QUICK DECISION
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he wants a quick decision on the future of Andy Carroll, who has been linked with a permanent move to West Ham in the summer. The striker spent the season on loan at the London club, and it is understood that there have been negotiations conducted between the two parties to make the deal permanent. The striker has not been part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans from the day the manager arrived just over a year ago. He does not fit into the passing style of football adopted by the former Swansea manager.
Carroll has enjoyed success after a long time at West Ham, as he has been perfect for West Ham manager Sam Allardyce’s style of play. The striker was injured for most of the campaign, but a strong finish to the season is thought to have persuaded the West Ham owners to discuss a possible deal for the striker. The striker finished the season with 7 goals in his 24 league matches this season. However, he has contributed a lot to the team in terms of creating chances due to his physical presence. West Ham are expected to make a £ 15 million offer for the player who cost Liverpool a British transfer record fee of £ 35 million.
“It’s a difficult one. I spoke to him and we had a good chat. The boy is a talent. It’s just something we need to assess between now and the end of window. In terms of the money, that’s something out of my control. But he’s a talent so we will assess the whole situation. The objective at the beginning of the season was for him to go out and play,” said the Liverpool manager, who brought in Daniel Sturridge during the January transfer window.
