Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that any club looking to sign their striker Luis Suarez should be making a bid that is close to the valuation of the player. Arsenal have been the first club to make an official offer for the player. Their first bid of £ 30 million was instantly rejected by Liverpool, but Arsenal recently came in with a second offer. This time, their bid was £ 40 million plus £ 1. It is believed that Suarez has a clause in his contract that would allow him to talk with an interested club if they came in with an offer of more than £ 40 million.

As expected, Suarez has said that he wants to hold talks with Arsenal despite stating publicly on several occasions that his intention is to mainly leave England. The striker has apparently grown tired of the English media constantly criticising him, while the player also finds the English FA to be biased against him. The striker has suffered more than 15 matches of bans since his £ 25 million move from Ajax in 2011. Arsenal are extremely keen on signing him, but manager Brendan Rodgers has said that any club will want to match the club’s valuation of around £ 55 million in order to sign him.

“If Arsenal want the player, then they have to produce the value for the player. There was an offer a few weeks ago of £35 million and, two weeks later, it is now £40,000,001. I don’t think it is anywhere near the value of what he is worth. It is two-fold, really. A player may want to go, but then somebody has to pay the value or worth of that player. I am not worried about him [in that sense], but there will be no games played at Liverpool. He is part of the group,” said Rodgers.
