CARRAGHER RAVES ABOUT LIVERPOOL DEFENDER
Liverpool legend Jaime Carragher was delighted with the return to action of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold during the Premier League clash with Wolves at Anfield. Trent Alexander-Arnold had missed the last four Liverpool games due to a calf injury sustained shortly before the international break last month.
In addition to missing the England games in November, Trent sat out the Champions League matches at home to Atalanta and Ajax Amsterdam aside clashes with Leicester City and Brighton, home and away respectively.
Liverpool were handed a big boost on the injury front when Trent Alexander-Arnold came on for Neco Williams midway into the second of half of the Wolves game. He was full of praise for the England international who provided an assist on his first appearance after the aforementioned calf injury. With Liverpool leading 3-0 against their opponents, Trent Alexander-Arnoldwhipped in a cross for Sadio Manethat was intercepted into the net by Wolves defender Nelson Semedofor the Reds’ fourth and final goal of the night.
His return is a big boost for Liverpool who have a Champions League game with Danish club FC Midtjylland away from home later this week before they travel to London to face Fulham in the Premier League before the mammoth top-of-the-table clash with league leaders Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield next week Wednesday. Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to have returned to full match sharpness by the time Spurs visit Liverpool.
