HAMMERS: CAN LIVERPOOL MAINTAIN UNBEATEN RUN
Merseyside giants Liverpool face a potentially tricky game in the Premier League when they travel to the London Stadium to battle with an in-form West Ham United side on a run of three successive wins in the competition.
Liverpool were the recipients of the Premier League summit until a run of one win and two draws in the last three games paved the way for Chelsea to replace them at the top of the log. The Reds started the last round of games with a one-point deficit to the Blues and a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Brighton and Hove Albion increased their deficit to Chelsea to three points with the leaders winning their game at Newcastle United 3-0.
West Ham United have already lost twice in five league games at home this season ahead of the visit of Liverpool. The second of those defeats came against newly promoted club Brentford in the London Derby just before the October international break. The Hammers run of three wins on the bounce started as from the 2-1 home loss to the Bees.
In the first of those three games, Angelo Ogbonna scored in the second half via his head to give West Ham a 1-0 win over hosts Everton. In the second game, Michail Antonio scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at home to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The 4-1 away win over 10-man Aston Villa last weekend made it three victories in a row.
West Ham United are in the top four on the Premier League table and they would potentially give Liverpool a stern test in their bid for the Premier League title.
